Magnolia Stellata Rosea Please note: This product cannot be delivered to Northern Ireland. Magnolia Stellata `Rosea’ are one of the earliest flowering magnolias. These are excellent rounded medium-sized deciduous shrubs that grow slowly into a small beautiful flowering bush. These are easy to grow plants that need a permanent place to thrive with neglect. They will flourish in colours in spring and early summer, perfect for hedging purposes. Rosea Magnolia is a beautiful variety that produces masses of star-shaped flowers in pink and white. These fragrant flowers grow on bare stems in early spring. One can plant them in front of other evergreen shrubs so that their leaves can create a decorative contrast for Magnolia flowers. In summer, it will display beautiful glossy leaves with hints of bronze that appear in late summer and autumn. Also known as the Starry Magnolia, Rosea prefers exposure to sunlight even though it can thrive in partial shade. Plant it in a sheltered spot in moist soil that is well-drained. It will adapt to a wide range of soils, apart from dry and chalky ones. It grows shallow roots that absorb nutrients and moisture, so make sure not to plant it deep in the soil. Rosea Magnolia does not necessarily require pruning. If you still wish to trim it to maintain its shape and size, do it right after the flowering season. Once these shrubs establish, they will turn drought tolerant. But regular watering will enhance their blooming performance. Cover the base of the plant with bark mulch to retain moisture. Magnolia Stellata are excellent hedging plants that can be freely grown as a single garden specimen or in large containers. Their stunning abundant flowers make them a wonderful choice for small gardens.
