IWOOT - Stuff you really, really wantIf you’ve ever wanted to get behind the controls of an armoured tank, this is the way to do it: a one-on-one session bombing around a track in a 17-tonne behemoth with this Tank Driving Thrill. Three laps in a supercar this ain’t - this is a driving experience for those who like to give themselves a challenge and drive a vehicle about as far removed from your day-to-day car as you can get. 17-and-a-half tonnes of hardened steel, where you can only see where you’re going half of the time as you make your way around the course looking through the tank’s periscope. You’ll be heading out onto a field once visited by old war heroes themselves, as the course is made from a former WWII bombing range. Lap one is a demonstration by your instructor as they show you how to handle the controls and show you the route to take, and then from there it’s all up to you to get your tank around the course. A lap with the hatches open, a lap with the hatches closed, and a final lap of your choosing - whichever way you go, this isn’t a drive you’re going to forget. What’s Included? Three laps driving a 17-tonne tankAn expert instructor to guide you through the courseDrive with hatches open or guided by the periscope, each with their own challengesFree entry into the onsite military museum and collectionExperience gift pack Cancellation indemnityWhat happens on the day? After arriving at least 15 minutes before your experience is scheduled to start, you’ll check in at the tank driving reception before being equipped with a tank suit and Kevlar helmet. Once you’re beside your vehicle your tank driving instructor will give you a detailed safety briefing before securing you in your seat and taking you around the track to familiarise you with the course. After that you’ll move into the driver’s position to take the tank around for three laps, one with the hatches open, one looking through the periscope and one more lap of your preference. The instructor will guide you through from start to finish, and at the end you’ll have free entry into the onsite military collection.
