Pansy ‘Matrix’ is a superb hardy perennial and a large flowering variety that has been bred to give outstanding performance in beds, borders, baskets and patio pots. A staple of winter bedding, pansies are well known to be incredibly tolerant of cold, wet weather, but they tend to droop as the weather warms up. Now with ‘Matrix’, the plants remain upright and continue to flower prolifically throughout spring and into summer. ‘Matrix Britannia’ is a patriotic mix of deep red, white and mauve-blue flowers that have a touch of yellow in their centres and look fabulous planted together. They are extremely hardy, and will give you a superb, colourful display to brighten up your garden from the cold dark of winter right up to the beginning of summer. Features and Benefits Incredibly robust, continuing to look great in cold winter and warm spring conditions Large, spectacular flowers in rich shades of red, white and blue from January until June! Extremely hardy, for a spectacular, colourful display that’ll brighten up your garden in dark winter days and into summer Perfect in baskets, pots, beds and borders Specifications Supplied as 20 garden-ready plants, ready to plant out and reaching a height and spread of 15 cm (6 in). Availability: Planting time: Flowering time: Model Number: 410008 Top Tips Deadhead regularly and remove yellow leaves to keep the display fresh. Care Information Give your garden-ready plants a little attention on arrival - unpack them immediately, and either mist them or stand them in water for an hour - they may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover. If you can’t do this, they can sit in Mini Greenhouses for a week if upright and not too wet. We recommend that you leave them to settle for a day somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse. If planting directly into flower beds, prepare the ground well, removing weeds and digging in some compost or well-rotted manure if your soil is not already rich. Plant approx. 15cm (6in) apart to allow them room to grow. Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.
